Omega at the boot sale

Postby Foggy on Sat Sep 17, 2005 2:29 pm

Hi all

Bought 2 Omega wristwatches at the boot sale this morning. First, a stainless steel cased auto Seamaster (cal 501). Spotted dial but running ok. No pic yet as it has gone for a new crystal.

The other Omega was this 18kt gold bumper auto from 1954.

Pleased with this one

That's a beauty!!! :thumbright:

Aren't the bumper springs missing, though?

No, they're there. The springs aren't visible from the top on the calibre 344.

Cheers

Congrats Foggy.
Phenomenally clean! Recently serviced by STS perhaps? I think they put parts in some kind of barrel of oak sawdust or something to clean up those plated parts.
I take it the "METAL" stamped into that ring in means that it is plated steel to give strength to the movement holding screws?
"With MY reputation?"

Kind regards

The bumper movement is lovely. Bumpers have the most interesting movements.
