Well - it is by far the busiest of any watch forums.

But as has been posted here before it is the way that the forums that are moderated that is the real problem (I had an innocuos post deleted, and others here have had problems).

I have to admit I do visit most days, but only go to the german and GO forums (OK and the sales corner)

Antiquorum's Founder, Chairman and CEO Osvaldo Patrizzi has been a TZ fan since the early days and an official supporter for the past several years. His goals for TZ are to maintain continuity and independence, and to build on the foundation laid down by Joseph Lam and his predecessors.

I'm not up on the structure nor the structure of the holding of the site, in relation to revenue generation.

In a conventional buisiness model, the purchaser mush have an idea of projected revenues to payback, NPV (net present value) or IRR (internal rate of return) or more compex derivations, though on the whole much the same in implcation, of the investment.

They may also see they can generate more than they paid which is implicit in such a decision, ruling out, for the moment, a generous donation and matter of honour, more than the present operators have managed to.

How they generate increased revenue in respect of this, whilst keeping the majority of the TZ identity (or, put another way, without changing it wholesale so to speak) can only mean cutting costs (very few as such, I would imagine), or, the more likely, increase revenues, which come from:

Advertising
Sposorship (unpredictable in the form of a donation and not great for forcasting and purchasing rationale)
Sponsorship from sellers/seller fees

Possible subscriptions or subscription services being introduced in some useful (for Wis) areas.

Creating an attractive environment is part and parcel of this, if they are intent on increasing revenues to pay for the investment or manage it better in this regard.

As such I think, too, they will reduce dissention of brands/discussion in a fully honest manner, to ensure retention and increased advertising revenues and sellers fees from the bigger sellers who are currently liable for fees/corporates

It could be a generous gesture to take control of TZ and maintain it on its current footing.

Time will tell, certinaly.

I like TZ.

It is a business so it has rules about posting links but there again I have never been on a forum as liberal as Eddies anywhere.

I've never had a post deleted or censored on TZ and I've posted some quite scathing remarks but they pretty much know me there.

When I first joined it was virtually all Americans but now there is a fair bit of Brit participation and certainly not the better for it.

Some are OK, one or two are excellent but the majority do seem a bit.....gormless and basically have nothing much to say but "nice watch" or come out with some stupid wrong "advice".

I probably pick up on it more because they are British.

Used to visit there quite regularly and there are some knowledgeable people there but also a lot of 'nice watch' posts and too many questions about the hologram on Rolexes.

Still go there from time to time...but I'm pretty sure they wouldn't have allowed my question about Mercs!
