Heads-up. New IWC models...

Postby mr1973 on Sun Dec 13, 2009 5:05 pm

Not so sure...

Hi All,

Stopped by a bookstore here in Tokyo last night and was surprised to see shots of the new Portugiesers (in a magazine called Tokei Begin).

The Chronos are all new, while the manual and auto Portugiesers have been given new dial variations.

The mag says shots won't be available in any other publication till 1Q 2010, so I thought fellow TZers might enjoy this.

Wow the chrono looks miserable... if these replace the current ones, I foresee second hand prices skyrocketting... who cares what movement is in it if the new one is that ugly

Heads up? Heads down more like.

I'd hazard a guess that Thierry Nataf has found a new job in the watch world

Oh. It was confirmed in the official (German) IWC-forum.... :?

The FA-Jones looks nice, but 45,4mm??

Oh well, IWC - To mix up Portugieser and Yacht-Club sounds so odd.

The problem might be that in their "Branding-experience" they see Portugieser= maritime (navigation roots)
and then some marketing f*cker who was not even born when the Yacht-Club was produced mixed it
together...

very dissapointing

Horrible... this brand used to be elegant but have seriously lost touch with their roots.
