    Tag Heuer Monaco in green

    I know Tag is a dirty word round here but I’ve just seen an email from them launching a 500 edition green Monaco, looks amazing and if it just had the Heuer branding I’d have been much more tempted!

    Don’t get why TAG should be a dirty word, I have an AquaRacer and it’s the nuts.

    I have a carrera and an old Kirium and love them, I just get the impression that some look down at the brand since Heuer became Tag Heuer but that’s probably for another thread!

    Looks nice in green (apparently the colour of the season) but in my opinion, you can't beat the blue. If ever a watch was made for a particular colour, I think the blue Monaco is it.

    I’m a big fan of TAG Heuer, have a couple myself. That is rather nice in green

    I think the green dial looks great but owning a green dial watch is a different proposition for me. I buy them then never wear them because they "don't go" with what I am wearing. Perhaps I am weird but find blue dial watches much more versatile.

    Heuer = 60s and 70s icons.

    Tag = 80s excess.

    Harsh and undeserved IMHO.

    I quite like some Tag, but they are usually just too big. Love the look of the aquaracer GMT, but they don’t do it in the 41mm case. All the new aquaracer models are now 43mm as well.
    To the subject of this thread; the green looks good, but seems to exacerbate the “circle in a square” dial of the Monaco. Doesn’t work for me and I love the grey and McQueen versions. Hmm.

    Like a couple of others, I really don't see the issue with Tag Heuer, they make some fine watches. I've got three just now (1887 chrono & 2 Monaco's) Enjoy wearing them all.

    As for the green Monaco - I'm not sure, maybe it's the black sub dials? Apart from the all black dialed Monaco, all the Monaco's have white sub dials.

    Seems lots of other manufacturers are introducing green watches; is green is the new black while blue was the new black a few years ago?
    Just don't think a green Monaco will be on my shopping list...it's not quite right for me.

    TAG lost their way over a couple of decades but I think they’ve been making some positive strides over the last 5 years and I’m increasingly taken by their releases.

    The Monaco is my least favourite of their chrono lines but it’s a nice colour choice. I recognise it’s popular among many

    More Carreras and Autavias please!
