Their standard payout (Fedex) is limited to a few c/kg so pretty useless.

Yes I did, but the extra insured amount is still about 20% less than the actual sale price on ebay. But I guess they don’t know how much I sold it for till I tell them.

I would claim it the amount you insure for. When they inevitably ask for proof you can explain your surprise at that point.

You could always say as it was an auction you thought it sold for more than it was worth so were being honest ?
