I believe there has also been a virus/blight issue which has killed off a number of groves.

We use an end grain bamboo board for most things and it's good as new after over a decade of use. Looks a lot nicer than plastic too (although I do use plastic for raw meat).
I had the same experience.
Can confirm missing the title by two points doesn't feel any better.
Overall a good season, results against our main rivals all good, just a couple of slip ups which cost us.
